Geoff Cohen

Managing Director

Geoff is a senior finance executive with broad experience in both M&A and the wealth management industry.

Geoff joined Flagstaff Partners in 2012 and has over 19 years’ investment banking experience. Prior to joining Flagstaff Partners he was Managing Director, Investments and Insurance at ANZ, with responsibility for a number of activities including financial planning, ANZ Trustees, online broking, investment lending, and the development of innovative wealth product for the mass market.

 


Kent Greig

Kent Greig has over 25 years of investment banking experience, predominantly as a specialist in M&A. Kent joined Flagstaff Partners in 2009 from Credit Suisse, where he was a Director and the head of the Australian M&A Group as well as leading coverage of the retail sector. Prior to Credit Suisse, Kent was an Associate Director at Macquarie Bank in the Investment Banking Group, based in Melbourne, Sydney and Seoul.

 


Michel Mamet

Michel joined Flagstaff Partners in 2009 and has 20 years of experience in investment banking. Prior to joining Flagstaff Partners, Michel was with Morgan Stanley and UBS, initially in Melbourne as part of the resources and energy group and subsequently in Dallas, Houston and New York.

 


Steve Hammerton

Steve Hammerton has over 20 years of investment banking and corporate finance experience in Australia, New Zealand and Europe.

Steve has advised on a variety of M&A and capital raising transactions for corporate, government and financial sponsor clients, in both private and public market transactions. Prior to joining Flagstaff Partners, Steve was a Director with Merrill Lynch in Melbourne and London.

 


James Hawkins

Managing Director

James has nearly 20 years of investment banking experience in Melbourne and New York advising on public and private M&A, trade sales, initial public offerings and other capital raisings. Prior to joining Flagstaff Partners in 2011, James was a Vice President with Macquarie Capital in both Melbourne and New York.

 


Matt Wilson

Matthew Wilson

Managing Director

Matthew joined Flagstaff Partners in 2018 and has 17 years of experience in investment banking. Prior to joining Flagstaff Partners, Matthew worked with J.P. Morgan for 14 years, initially in Melbourne covering industrial clients and then in Sydney, leading the firm’s coverage of private equity, healthcare and TMT clients. Matthew commenced his career with Macquarie Bank’s Investment Banking Group in Melbourne.

 


Rowan Lang

Rowan Lang

Executive Director

Rowan Lang has 15 years of investment banking, corporate advisory and private equity experience in Australia and South Africa. He was formerly with Investec Principal Investments based in South Africa.  Rowan has advised on a variety of M&A, capital raising transactions and strategic initiatives for corporate and financial sponsor clients. He has experience across a broad range of sectors including general industrials, infrastructure, property, healthcare, energy, retail and financial services.

 


Edmond Chan

Edmond has 15 years of investment banking and principal investment experience. Prior to joining Flagstaff Partners in 2016, Edmond worked at J.P. Morgan and Citi across Australia and Europe, and was also principal and director of a boutique Australian based fund manager. Edmond has advised on a variety of public market and private treaty M&A transactions and capital raisings across a broad range of sectors including general industrials, manufacturing, transport, consumer and infrastructure.

 


Karan Chopra

Karan Chopra joined Flagstaff in 2018 and has over 10 years of investment banking and corporate finance experience. Prior to joining Flagstaff, Karan worked at J.P. Morgan for 10 years covering clients across natural resources, infrastructure, mining services and general industrial sectors. Karan has worked on a broad range of transactions including M&A, secondary equity offerings, high yield and investment grade bond offerings and joint venture structuring.

 


Vivienne Petroff

Vice President

Viv has over eight years of investment banking, corporate advisory and commercial finance experience. She was previously at Flagstaff for three and a half years between 2012 and 2016 and re-joined the firm in 2018, having spent 18 months at REA Group (realestate.com.au). During her time at REA Group, Viv worked on a range of strategic and M&A projects in the Office of the CEO, and also gained experience in the commercial finance team. Prior to joining Flagstaff in 2012, Viv was an investment banking analyst at Deutsche Bank in the industrials and financial sponsors team.

 


David Fidge

David Fidge joined Flagstaff Partners in 2014. David holds a Bachelor of Commerce (with Honours) from the University of Melbourne.

Notable transactions and assignments include advising Jemena and Veolia on the sale of respective financial interests in the Rosehill Recycled Water Scheme, Mercury on the sale of its smart meter business (NZ$270m), Sime Darby of the acquisition of Heavy Maintenance Group ($58m), the Victorian Government on the concession for Land Use Victoria ($2.86bn), John Swire & Sons on the sale of Alex Fraser Group, Australian Unity on the sale of GU Health ($156m), the Victorian Government on the Port of Melbourne lease transaction ($9.6bn), the Northern Territory Government in relation to the long term lease of the Port of Darwin ($506m) and Transfield Services on takeover offers from Ferrovial and various greenfield PBSA transactions.

Vishaal Ranchhod joined Flagstaff Partners in 2013. Vishaal holds a Bachelor of Laws (with Honours) and a Bachelor of Commerce from Monash University.

Notable transactions and assignments include acquisitions by Domino's Pizza Enterprises of Domino's Pizza Japan for ¥25 billion, Pizza Sprint in France for €35 million and Joey's Pizza and Hallo Pizza in Germany for €79 million and €32 million respectively, GHD on its North American merger with CRA and CSL on Australian asset sales and ratings advice. ​

Edward Cowan joined Flagstaff Partners in 2016 and has over 4 years of corporate advisory experience advising on M&A and strategic initiatives. Prior to Flagstaff, Edward worked in the mergers and acquisitions teams of KPMG and PPB Advisory in Melbourne.

Edward holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Finance) and a Bachelor of Science (Mathematical Statistics) from Monash University and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand.

($632m) and Australian Unity on the sale of GU Health ($156m).
