SENIOR ADVISER
Don Challen has 30 years of experience in the public sector, including 17 years as Secretary of the Department of Treasury and Finance in Tasmania.
He has extensive board experience in the government sector and has substantial experience in the establishment, reconstruction and merger of large government businesses.
Don has managed major transactions in the energy, infrastructure, transport, procurement, real estate and gaming sectors. He was a key player in the development of the Basslink electricity interconnection between Tasmania and Victoria, a principal architect of the Tasmanian electricity market design and led the project which achieved Tasmania’s entry into the National Electricity Market in 2005. Don was the expert adviser to the 2011 Tamberlin Special Commission of Inquiry into the Electricity Transactions in NSW.
