Fiodor Balai

Fiodor Balai has over 10 years of corporate finance advisory experience across M&A and debt / equity capital markets.  Fiodor re-joined Flagstaff Partners in 2021 from Goldman Sachs where he was an Executive Director in the Melbourne Natural Resources team, specialising primarily in infrastructure, oil & gas and energy. Previously Fiodor was at Flagstaff Partners for 4 years between 2014 and 2018 and covered clients across a variety of sectors including infrastructure, oil & gas, energy, resources and general industrials. Before joining Flagstaff Partners Fiodor was a Manager in EY’s Valuations and Business Modelling team in Melbourne

Most notable transactions include advising Origin Energy on its €600m European MTN issuance, the University of Melbourne monetising its student accommodation portfolio to AMP Capital, the sale of Norman Disney & Young to Tetra Tech, the Northern Territory Government on its 99 year lease of the Port of Darwin ($506m) and executing a long term concession on the Australian National Universities student accommodation portfolio ($165m equity)

Fiodor holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours in Finance and Accounting) from the University of Melbourne and is a qualified Chartered Financial Analyst
