Geoff Cohen is a senior finance executive with broad experience in both M&A and the financial services industry
Geoff joined Flagstaff Partners in 2012 and has over 25 years’ investment banking experience. Prior to joining Flagstaff Partners he was Managing Director, Investments and Insurance at ANZ, with responsibility for a number of activities including financial planning, ANZ Trustees, online broking, investment lending, and the development of innovative wealth product for the mass market
Geoff joined ANZ in February 2004 as Head of M&A in Group Strategic Development, and was responsible for overseeing M&A activity by the bank, including acquisitions in Australia, NZ and Asia
Prior to joining ANZ, Geoff was a Managing Director in Deutsche Bank’s Investment Banking Division and was Deputy Head, M&A for Australia and New Zealand from 2001
Geoff has advised on a wide range of transactions including public market M&A, trade sales, IPOs and other capital raisings. He has advised a number of clients in financial services, including ANZ, NAB, Deutsche Bank, Great Southern Bank, MLC Life, and Australian Unity. Other industry experience include higher education, alcoholic beverages, aged care, and general industrials
Geoff is also Deputy Chair of the Melbourne Grammar School Council
Geoff holds a Bachelor of Science and a Bachelor of Law (with honours) from the University of Melbourne
